Be Careful How You Hear (Luke 8:10-15, 18 NLT)

Be Careful How You Hear (Luke 8:10-15, 18 NLT)

4 Ways to Hear: The Seed is God’s Word

1. “The seeds that fell on the footpath represent those who hear the message, only to have the devil come and take it away from their hearts and prevent them from believing and being saved.”

2. “The seeds on the rocky soil represent those who hear the message and receive it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they believe for a while, then they fall away when they face temptation.”

3. “The seeds that fell among the thorns represent those who hear the message, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life. And so they never grow into maturity.”

4. “And the seeds that fell on the good soil represent honest, good-hearted people who hear God’s word, cling to it, and patiently produce a huge harvest.”

“So pay attention to how you hear. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what they think they understand will be taken away from them.”

Number 4 is how we want to hear (SO many hear like number 3)! Dr.J.

“The Oil Keeps Flowing” by Dr.J.

It is getting ready to pour! You’ve been obedient. You’ve been sowing and sowing and sowing in the lives of God’s people. You’ve sown in kindness, time, thoughts, words and deeds.

Someone has been sowing money from your household and you were concerned about whether or not you would be able to continue giving like this and still be able to eat or take care of yourself and your own family. You’ve sown into the life of the prophet and so many of God’s people. You’ve given to others before you considered the cost and the needs of your own family.

The Holy Spirit assured you that God would supply all your needs according to His riches in glory. When you would give though, and you looked at your own account, you couldn’t see how you would make it. But you were still obedient. You kept giving but the flour and the olive oil never ran out. The oil just keeps flowing. Yes God! You kept looking at the containers trying to figure out “how” but you know in your spirit “how.”

‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭17:13-16‬ ‭NLT‬‬ “But Elijah said to her, ‘Don’t be afraid! Go ahead and do just what you’ve said, but make a little bread for me first. Then use what’s left to prepare a meal for yourself and your son. For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: “There will always be flour and olive oil left in your containers until the time when the LORD sends rain and the crops grow again!” So she did as Elijah said, and she and Elijah and her family continued to eat for many days. There was always enough flour and olive oil left in the containers, just as the LORD had promised through Elijah.'”

When I looked at 1 Kings chapter 17, verses 13-16, the Holy Spirit said to me, “It’s getting ready to pour!” Your needs have been met though it has been tight. You’ve had enough to make it, but you had to shuffle your money around. “Because of your obedience, sacrifice, and faith, God is about to send the rain. The rain is going to produce such a fruitful and productive harvest in your life that you won’t have room enough to receive it. You will be able to bless others even more.” My God! Thank You Jesus. Are you ready for the rain? Dr.J.
