Who is Tied to Your Yoke? by Dr.J.

Who is in the bow of the other side of the yoke to which you’re tied? Are you equally yoked? If it could possibly cause you to compromise your faith and ultimately your relationship with God, why hook up with someone with whom you’re unequally yoked? Yes love. Yes minister. Yes witness. But do not become spiritually (or physically tied) with unbelievers or “said” believers whose life doesn’t line up with their profession.

Can light partner up with darkness? Can righteousness and wickedness hang out? Can Jesus and the devil be harmonious with each other? Someone is chasing someone down right now for him to slide his neck into the bow of your yoke to hold you back, weigh you down, and ultimately delay your destiny because of your own disobedience.

You two aren’t even headed in the same direction. You’re not spiritually strong enough to pull a hardened heart. Stop fooling yourselves that God wants you to stay so you can fix it. God said separate yourselves right now. You have too much at stake to stay tied. The load we have to carry is burdensome enough without dead and deadly weight. Untie yourself now.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be unequally bound together with unbelievers [do not make mismatched alliances with them, inconsistent with your faith]. For what partnership can righteousness have with lawlessness? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

But then, Jesus said for us to take His yoke upon us because His yoke is easy and His burden is light. So, once we are free from the yoke of the world, we can connect to the yoke of Jesus. Dr.J.

Matthew 11:28–30 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

“You Will Not Lose It” by Dr.J.

You will not lose it! I know we feel like we are on the verge of losing it at any moment now, but we will not lose it! Hang in there! Don’t lose faith. Don’t lose sight of the prize He has promised if we would only keep pressing! Walls are closing in on us at home, at work, in our finances, and in our relationships but squeeze through to the other side. Debt, trouble, and situations are getting deeper, but keep swimming! “Progress” hills, “relief” hills, and “healing” hills are getting steeper but keep climbing. We have to take this stuff to Him and leave it all there. It’s time to really trust that He can do what He said He will. Mind boggling situations that we can’t handle on our own, we must release them from our minds and let Him fix it. Believe me, you will not lose your minds! I haven’t! He gives us peace of mind. Receive it today. Dr.J.

“Four Distinctive Responses to the Promise of Birth” by Dr.J.

God is getting ready to birth something in your life. How will you respond to His promise of birth? Holy Spirit has really been speaking to me about spiritual birth and spiritual impregnation. He revealed to me four distinctive physical responses in scriptures to the promises of birth with spiritual significance for me and maybe you too. Notice how Sarah, Manoah and his wife, Zechariah, and then Mary, Jesus’s mother each responded to the promise of birth. Then reflect on how you’ve responded to God’s promise of birth in your own life.

Sarah’s Response to the Promise of Birth

Genesis‬ ‭18:9-15‬ ‭NIV “’Where is your wife Sarah?’ they asked him. ‘There, in the tent,’ he said. Then one of them said, ‘I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son.’bNow Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him. Abraham and Sarah were already very old, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing. So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, ”After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?’ Then the Lord said to Abraham, ‘Why did Sarah laugh and say, “Will I really have a child, now that I am old?” Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.’ Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, ‘I did not laugh.’But he said, ‘Yes, you did laugh.'”

Sarah responded to God’s promise of birth in disbelief. She thought that it was too late for the promise to be birthed through her. She thought that it wasn’t physically possible through her. She had waited so long for the promise that she abandoned hope for the promise ever coming to pass. She underestimated the sovereignty of God so much that it scared her when God read her mind and knew that she laughed on the inside. Did she not think God could hear her thoughts as He does ours? Did she not think that God knew she was lying to Him as He does us? God knows when we don’t believe that He will birth the promises He has given us. God knows when we doubt His promises are actually possible. God knows when we’re disgruntled in our spirits because what He promised hasn’t manifested yet. Consider how you’ve responded to the promises of God.  In mocking laughter? In disbelief? In doubt? In faith? Nothing is too hard for God. If God has promised to birth something through you, believe that He will.

Manoah and His Wife’s Response to the Promise of Birth

Judges 13:1-Again the Israelites did evil in the Lord’s sight, so the Lord handed them over to the Philistines, who oppressed them for forty years. In those days a man named Manoah from the tribe of Dan lived in the town of Zorah. His wife was unable to become pregnant, and they had no children. The angel of the Lord appeared to Manoah’s wife and said, “Even though you have been unable to have children, you will soon become pregnant and give birth to a son. So be careful; you must not drink wine or any other alcoholic drink nor eat any forbidden food.You will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and his hair must never be cut. For he will be dedicated to God as a Nazirite from birth. He will begin to rescue Israel from the Philistines.” The woman ran and told her husband, “A man of God appeared to me! He looked like one of God’s angels, terrifying to see. I didn’t ask where he was from, and he didn’t tell me his name. But he told me, ‘You will become pregnant and give birth to a son. You must not drink wine or any other alcoholic drink nor eat any forbidden food. For your son will be dedicated to God as a Nazirite from the moment of his birth until the day of his death.’ Then Manoah prayed to the Lord: “Pardon your servant, Lord. I beg you to let the man of God you sent to us come again to teach us how to bring up the boy who is to be born.”

Manoah’s wife responded in excitement to the promise of birth. Although her productivity had been dormant for a while, at the news of promised birth, she immediately grasped in her spirit that she would indeed give birth. When she shared the news with her husband, he did not display an inkling of doubt. He immediately wanted to begin to plan for the coming birth. He wanted to know how to prepare for the the birth. Manoah even wanted to know how to nurture the baby after it was birthed. When Manoah was able to speak to the angel for himself, he said “when your words come true.” This statement signifies his belief in the promised birth. Manoah didn’t even receive the prophecy directly and he still believed. How would you respond to a vision for promised birth if you didn’t get the vision directly? Would you believe the messenger? Are you preparing now for the baby that’s on the way? Are you willing to give up alcohol and wine for the baby that’s inside you? Are you willing to give up anything that may contaminate the fetus of your baby? After the baby is birthed are you still willing to keep the baby pure?

Zechariah’s Response to the Promise of Birth

Luke 1:6-21 “Zechariah and Elizabeth were righteous in God’s eyes, careful to obey all of the Lord’s commandments and regulations. They had no children because Elizabeth was unable to conceive, and they were both very old. One day Zechariah was serving God in the Temple, for his order was on duty that week. As was the custom of the priests, he was chosen by lot to enter the sanctuary of the Lord and burn incense. While the incense was being burned, a great crowd stood outside, praying. While Zechariah was in the sanctuary, an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the incense altar. Zechariah was shaken and overwhelmed with fear when he saw him. But the angel said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Zechariah! God has heard your prayer. Your wife, Elizabeth, will give you a son, and you are to name him John. You will have great joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, or he will be great in the eyes of the Lord. He must never touch wine or other alcoholic drinks. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even before his birth. And he will turn many Israelites to the Lord their God. He will be a man with the spirit and power of Elijah. He will prepare the people for the coming of the Lord. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and he will cause those who are rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly. Zechariah said to the angel, ‘How can I be sure this will happen? I’m an old man now, and my wife is also well along in years.’ Then the angel said, ‘I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news! But now, since you didn’t believe what I said, you will be silent and unable to speak until the child is born. For my words will certainly be fulfilled at the proper time.’ Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zechariah to come out of the sanctuary, wondering why he was taking so long. When he finally did come out, he couldn’t speak to them. Then they realized from his gestures and his silence that he must have seen a vision in the sanctuary.”

What is interesting for you to note it that Zechariah and Elizabeth were people of God. They were considered righteous in God’s sight. This could possibly be why God trusted them for the promise of birth. Although they were very old and Elizabeth couldn’t have any children, God still chose them for the promise of birth. This shows believers that it is never too late for God to birth something in us. But Zechariah, in the midst of serving God, worshiping God, and doing church work, still couldn’t believe God for the promise. When Gabriel, the angel of the Lord stood in God’s presence and delivered the message of birth to Gabriel, Zachariah questioned how it could possibly happen. Zechariah weighed the impossibilities and limitations more heavily than the power of a sovereign God. When Zachariah opened his mouth, he spoke doubt. I’m reflecting right now…When God showed me His vision and what He’s birthing in me, did I speak fear or faith? When I opened my mouth was it in praise and faith or fear and disbelief? Be careful what you speak. God will close your mouth to increase your faith if He needs to.

The angel said that because of of Zachariah’s unbelief that Zachariah would have to be silent until God birthed the promise at the appointed time. Can you trust God for the promise? Can you be patient until the appointed time for your promised birth? Will you believe the messengers God sends? Have you been in a period of silence and didn’t know why?  Are you willing to give up alcohol and drinks for your promise? Consider your faith or lack thereof. Push. It may be painful but push. Push your faith. Push your belief. Push your trust in God. The messenger of God says you will give birth.

Mary’s Response to the Promise of Birth

Luke 1:26-38 “In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David. Gabriel appeared to her and said, ‘Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!’ Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean. ‘Don’t be afraid, Mary,’ the angel told her, ‘for you have found favor with God! You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!’ Mary asked the angel, ‘But how can this happen? I am a virgin.’ The angel replied, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God. What’s more, your relative Elizabeth has become pregnant in her old age! People used to say she was barren, but she has conceived a son and is now in her sixth month. For the word of God will never fail.’ Mary responded, ‘I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.’ And then the angel left her.”

Now some of you may think that Mary asked a question in doubt. The Holy Spirit revealed to me that she asked the question for clarification (I mean she was a virgin about to get married and what would he think?) or maybe even curiosity but she definitely believed. Mary, after the angel described for her how she would conceive being a virgin, stated “may everything you have said about me come true.” Some of you have thought that your “inexperience” may have disqualified you for the promise of birth. God says otherwise. You will give birth and the baby will be holy and belong to God.

God is ready to birth promises that He has given you. Get ready. Get ready. Get ready. Receive the promise. Believe the messengers. Purge and keep your body and home and lives clean. Make preparation now. The baby is on the way. Dr.J.

“Couples, Watch Your Mouths” by Dr.J.

What are you saying to your significant other? Are you allowing outside people to penetrate your bond and cause you to speak (believe) negatively about your love? Yes, outside people are used by the enemy to cause dissension too, so be alert!

Is the enemy able to manipulate you and cause verbal strife between you? And please don’t be deceived about the fact that ALL doubt, conflict, jealousy, strife, insecurity, and enmity between the two of you comes from the enemy, which can be the DEATH of your relationship.

Death threats: we won’t gone make it, I’m not in love with you any more, you don’t know how to be faithful, “a real man this” and “a real woman that,” “no good” mother, “good for nothing” trifling dad, I don’t trust you, I’m not attracted to you anymore, you can’t accomplish that, such-an-such of the opposite sex says it like this-DEATH THREATS).

So it is important, no, it is imperative that you speak LIFE to each other and over your relationship! What has God told you about your relationship? Profess it daily!

LIFE DECLARATIONS: No plot or trick of the enemy will succeed in destroying this union. No one or nothing, even our own mistakes, can separate what God has put together. I recognize your efforts to be more romantic or loving or submissive. Neither of us is perfect so we love each other freely and forgive each other quickly. We understand the attacks of the enemy and how he operates-subtly so we are prepared for battle. We choose to use our tongues to speak life about each other so we will reap the benefits of a prosperous relationship!

Proverbs 18:21 “The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.”

Check what you’re speaking to each other and about your relationship! If it can’t be positive or uplifting, stop talking! Couples, will you reap death or life from what you speak? What will it be? Dr.J.

Be Careful How You Hear (Luke 8:10-15, 18 NLT)

Be Careful How You Hear (Luke 8:10-15, 18 NLT)

4 Ways to Hear: The Seed is God’s Word

1. “The seeds that fell on the footpath represent those who hear the message, only to have the devil come and take it away from their hearts and prevent them from believing and being saved.”

2. “The seeds on the rocky soil represent those who hear the message and receive it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they believe for a while, then they fall away when they face temptation.”

3. “The seeds that fell among the thorns represent those who hear the message, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life. And so they never grow into maturity.”

4. “And the seeds that fell on the good soil represent honest, good-hearted people who hear God’s word, cling to it, and patiently produce a huge harvest.”

“So pay attention to how you hear. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what they think they understand will be taken away from them.”

Number 4 is how we want to hear (SO many hear like number 3)! Dr.J.

“A Husband’s Prayer of Submission” by Dr. Jené Walker

A Husband’s Prayer

I am a husband and I surrender my wife and my marriage to you. Lord, You have commanded me to give myself up for my wife but because of my past hurts, I’ve been afraid to let this wall down to give myself to her completely. There are things about me that I’m afraid that if she knew, she would leave. I’ve always been taught to be hard and hide my emotions but I’m willing to get my instructions from You now.

I know she is upset because I work so hard and so much but I have confused “being the head” with “making the bread.” I just want to please her and give her and the kids nice things. She has no idea what it feels like to be placed in charge of a household by You Lord but be placed at the bottom of the world’s totem pole. But now that I surrender to You, I know I will get spiritual wisdom from You. My hope is in You.

When You made me head, You wanted me to lead her and the kids to You. You wanted me to know the Word, lead with the Word, and get them to the Word. You wanted me to love and care for her the way You love and care for the church. Help me to provide for her. Help me to manage our finances. Help me to exercise self-control.

I’m ready now God. But help me to handle when her voice or even her silence gets so loud. Help me to be sensitive, to communicate, and to show her the love and affection she needs. Help me to unite with her and become one flesh. But also help her to understand that all she needs is in You because the burden of being god for her gets heavy sometimes. Help her to forgive me. Help me to surrender her and our marriage to You.  Jené Elaine Walker

“Fall Face Down On the Ground” by Dr.J.

How are leaders supposed to respond to plotters, evil doers, and conspirators coming against them? Fall face down on the ground. Proclaim what the Lord will do for you, and have faith in what you know about God.

Moses, a surrendered man of God, had three church leaders to plot against him. It only took three divisive men in the church to gather 250 other esteemed church members to incite a rebellion. It is important to note that God had already blessed these men with leadership positions and because of their inability to control the works of the flesh (jealousy, envy, division, and dissension) they rebelled against the surrendered man of God.

When Moses discovered the plot, he immediately fell face down on the ground. This is so deep. Moses shows his reliance on God to direct him through this situation. He is prostrate before God. He shows humility and self-control. He even shows his haters respect by falling on his face.

How do we as surrendered men and women of God respond to conflict? Do we with confidence and faith in God say, “God will take care of you in the morning? I may be down on my face now, but in the morning God will get the vengeance.” Are you confident that God won’t even allow these evil doers to enter into His presence? Leaders, when people come against you, don’t panic; don’t fear; and don’t retaliate. God will take care of them in the morning. Dr.J.

Numbers‬ ‭16:1-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬ “One day Korah son of Izhar, a descendant of Kohath son of Levi, conspired with Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On son of Peleth, from the tribe of Reuben. They incited a rebellion against Moses, along with 250 other leaders of the community, all prominent members of the assembly. They united against Moses and Aaron and said, ‘You have gone too far! The whole community of Israel has been set apart by the LORD, and he is with all of us. What right do you have to act as though you are greater than the rest of the LORD’s people?’ When Moses heard what they were saying, he fell face down on the ground. Then he said to Korah and his followers, ‘Tomorrow morning the LORD will show us who belongs to him and who is holy. The LORD will allow only those whom he selects to enter his own presence.'”

“You’re More Than a Summer” by Dr.J.

You Are More Than a Summer by Dr.J.4.12.14
You’re a Four Seasons Woman, not a summer fling. You are a year around, every year kinda thing. Don’t believe those lies about your summer self. You’re a Four Seasons Woman.

You are Fall. Your vibrant hues of reds and oranges are balanced by shades of the earth. As your leaves temporarily vanish, you anticipate the new growth that manifests itself in your future season. You can tone down the hottest heat for the warmest warmth. Your Fall makes your elevation even sweeter, your testimony even stronger. You are more than just a summer fling. You’re a Four Seasons Woman, a year around every year kinda thing.

You are Winter, a coolant so necessary when life’s circumstances and situations are ablazed with disappointments and hurt. Your ice freezes the blistering weapons of the enemy instantaneously. Your coldest disposition evokes the comfort of a blanket, a fireplace, an extended embrace. Your chill is so laid back it’s unreal.

You are Spring, a season that melts the ice away. You are stuck between cold and hot, but tepid you are NOT. The birds are singing because of your springy Spirit. Your new leaves forming, your buds sprouting-Your season of growth integral in your cycles of seasons. Your Spring has sprung into a perpetual season of prosperity.

Yes, you are summer too but summer isn’t all of you. You are passionate, but even more compassionate. You are fun but you are even more favored. You can win the most heated philosophical debates but you are boiling with God’s wisdom. Your summer spirit sears through the coldest of hearts. Your scorching desire to please God is the core of your sizzling summer.

Whoever told you you were just a summer and whose summation was that you are only a vacation, a get away, a go to spot for getting hot…well, they lied. You are more than just a summer fling. You are everything. You’re a Four Seasons Woman. Dr.J.4.12.14

“A Family that Fasts Together, Stays Together” by Dr.J.

If a family that prays together stays together, what happens to a family that fasts together?
We need to go beyond family prayer and begin to fast this season for the entire family to move into their new thing. God is doing something new for you and everyone connected with you. God is waiting on us to believe Him for more.

We can ask God “why hasn’t anything supernatural happened for my family? Why haven’t we been able to break generational curses of addiction, adultery, or poverty?” Jesus’ answer, “how long have you suffered with these issues? Some things only come by fasting and praying.”

A family that fasts together builds spiritual capacity for the following:

1) to break generational curses off the family;

2) to break strongholds off individual and collective family members;

3) to move Jesus to act more quickly on the behalf of individual and collective family members;

4) to begin to see manifestation of the work of God in your children and plants seeds for your children’s children;

5) to usher in and stands in agreement and believes God for generational blessings, wealth, prosperity, land and favor for individual and collective family members; and

6) to renounce, denounce, and rebuke any Jezebel, marine, and all other demonic spirits and curses off of individual and collective family members.

Fast and have faith for more for your family this season. Dr.J.
